7 reasons to visit the Telethon Family Festival this year

Bring your family and friends to the reimagined Telethon Family Festival presented by Coles on Sunday October 23 between 10am to 4pm. Now in the heart of the Perth CBD, we are taking over Wellington Street from RAC Arena to Yagan Square with free entry, free rides and free public transport for everyone to enjoy a wonderful day of family fun and entertainment.

FREE CARNIVAL RIDES

Enjoy a variety of rides and amusements at the Kids Carnival supported by Lotterywest including the thrilling dream swinger, take on your friends on the bumper cars, hop in a taxi jet and rotate up and down like a merry-go-round,or turn to the classic spinning cup and saucer and mini-Ferris wheel. Check out Side Show Alley to get your favourite showbags and try one of the amusements for your chance to win a prize.

TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE, BUT MAKE IT FUN!

Learn about all the amazing work our Telethon beneficiaries do on the APM Charity Trail including activities for the entire family. Try a music workshop from Australian Children’s Music Foundation, play in a huge lego pit at Camp Quality and try the interactive science activities by the Telethon Kids Institute and so much more.

Make sure you pick up an APM Charity Passport and collect your stamps along the trail, hand your completed passport in at the APM tent for your chance to win some great prizes for the whole family.

WORK UP A SWEAT

For those who love their sport, have a go at the NRMA Insurance Cricket activation, see Matt Fuller and his team give it their all in a non-stop spin cycle fundraising event at the HBF Fitness Challenge, try out Rebound WA’s wheelchair basketball and have a handball at the West Coast Eagles activation.

TANTALISE YOUR TASTE BUDS

Eat and drink some of Perth’s yummiest food from a huge range of food trucks and vendors including texan barbecue, baos, curries, pizza, fish and chips, crepes, sushi, burgers, kebabs, bubble tea and coffee. For those with a sweeter tooth, festival favourites include fairy floss, ice cream and cakes are available. Telethon beneficiaries, Ozharvest will show you how to make an apple slinky while Foodbank are providing free fruit and you can make a yummy treat.

LIVE PERFORMANCES TO FUEL YOUR LEISURE

Be entertained all-day by a variety of Western Australia’s talented performers at the Winning Appliances Community stage. Witness the TEN Tenors, an Australian ensemble who have toured worldwide, Jordan Anthony from The Voice perform his new single Higher, stand up comedy trio Motherhood and much more.

No matter where you go at the Telethon Family Festival presented by Coles you’ll be entertained by roaming performers including the acrobatic brilliance of Fliptease, an enchanting puppet show by Freedom Fairies and grab a photo with your favourite superheroes and mascots. Take some time out to relax and head to the Lotterywest Chill Out Zone to lounge on one of their bean bags in the shade.

SOMETHING FOR FAMILIES, FOODIES AND FESTIVAL GOERS

You’ll find all-day family entertainment at Yagan Square with live performances by Propel Youth Arts, pick up a paint brush and participate in Indigenous painting with Sammy Wyborn Aboriginal Art, enjoy an eye-catching bubble display plus interact with a range of heartfelt displays such as the wheel of kindness and giving wall.
