2010 Little Telethon Stars – Phoebe McIndoe & Lachy Ross

Phoebe McIndoe of Seville Grove (Age 10)

Phoebe was a little fashionista who loved the camera and was very outgoing. She was extremely articulate, bubbly and friendly with everyone, always stopping by to say hello to staff when at PMH for appointments. She was very chatty and loved to strike up a conversation.

Phoebe was born with a Cleft Palate and Cystic Hygroma, with swelling in the neck, mouth and face. She has had a number of surgeries and injections to reduce the swelling, but still had a visible lump on the side of her face. In fact, she had eleven operations before her 1st birthday.

In 2010 Phoebe was in Grade 4 and was extremely excited about representing all the kids from Perth at Telethon 2010.

Lachy Ross of Boyanup (Age 8)

Lachy loved the West Coast Eagles, motorbike riding (BMX), football, soccer and hanging out with his friends. He attended Boyanup Primary School and had three younger sisters. He was a happy, outgoing child and a little bit cheeky and he got away with it with his big blue eyes and dimples.

Lachy was diagnosed at age four with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (a form of leukaemia) and underwent extensive chemotherapy treatment for six months at PMH. Lachy relapsed in April 2008 and underwent another twelve months of chemotherapy. In 2010 Lachy was in remission and doing very well.

Lachy loved his time representing all the regional kids from around Western Australia at Telethon 2010.
